Variation… God’s canvas for beauty

In the beginning, the Earth was empty and bare,
A silent void, no shape, no air.
But the Spirit of God moved across the deep,
And spoke light into being, stirring it from sleep.
He didn’t destroy the dark, just gave light its place—
A space to shine, a gentle grace.
He formed the sky to split the sea,
And told the waters where to be.

Then rose the land with grass and trees,
Herbs and fruit borne on the breeze.
He set the stars, the moon, the sun,
To mark the seasons, days begun.
In oceans deep, He filled with life—
From unseen cells to whales in strife.
Creatures vast and creatures small,
Some we’ve never seen at all.
Then came the birds, from hum to cry—
The tiny wings, the ones that fly
High and proud, or close to ground,
Each with a different song or sound.
He made the beasts—both wild and mild—
The creeping spider, the elephant child.
Some with many legs, some with none,
Each with a purpose under the sun.
Then He formed humanity,
In His image, lovingly.
Adam and Eve—unique and true—
Not masters of each other, but stewards through and through.
God delighted in all He made,
In every shade and every grade.
He called it good—this wondrous spread
Of trees and birds and all things bred.
To Adam He gave the task, not rule—
To care, not conquer; tend, not duel.
He never said, “Take Eve and reign,”
But “guard the earth, let love remain.”
Still today, we miss this truth:
That difference is a sacred proof.
We fight, divide, forget His voice,
And act as if we have no choice.
But God who made the hummingbird
And the ostrich tall with steps unheard—
He made them both and called them fine,
Each part of His grand design.

He once walked through the garden’s hush,
Perhaps to see if all was just.
And He will come again someday,
To ask how we have lived His way.
Will we answer with hate and pride,
Or with hearts that stood side by side?
For we were meant to love, not fear
What makes each being special here.
The beauty in difference still shines bright—
If only we look with Heaven’s light.
